Great solution to get rid of any insect. Had a terrible roach & ant problem in a bathroom that shared a wall with garage on other side. Put this powder on garage side of wall and no more problem with insects. Have used boric acid for years and it always works. I don't worry about my pets or grand kids and any chemical residue. Thanks Walgreens for having this on hand!!

All gone

Date:July 10, 2012
Pros: wish i had known first
Tried everything but this. Purchased and sprinkled on counter with one bit of a crumb of cake. Over night ants everywhere, within 12 hours ants all gone. Not one! They carry this product back to nest and kill their house mates and queenie. Love it, highly recommend this.

WOW!

Date:June 9, 2012
Pros: it works!
Cons: None
This sutff is fantastic! works like magic! After trying Terro for a month (b/c it had worked last yr) the ants were just eating it up & coming back & bringing all their relatives! One day of the Boric Acid & only saw 2-4 ants.
After that--GONE-- & haven't returned. This was in the bathroom. Outside, along the foundation of the house, same results.

best product ever

Date:September 5, 2010
I have been using boric acid to kill insects and cockroaches for years. It works! And keeps them away. My neighbors may have problems with ants or roaches, but the bugs don't survive when they come to my house to live. I use a mixture of boric acid, sugar and butter. I pack it into plastic straws, cut these into 1/2 inch strips. These tiny roach baits fit into cracks and corners, behind walls and into the openings around water pipes. You do not need to remove them. The mixture does not spoil so it lasts indefinitely and keeps working

best roach treatment

Date:August 18, 2010
Pros: Long Lasting
Cons: clumps in powder
Boric acid is one of the best roach treatments out there. It lasts forever if put into the right places - like attic, behind appliances, between walls.
My only gripe is that the powder has a lot of clumps and prevents you from spraying out from the bottle as its designed.

Good Stuff!

Date:May 18, 2010
Pros: Easy To Use
Cons: Leaves visible white powd
I used Ortho 2 or three times this spring and still kept finding a bug here or there. I put this powder outside around the foundation, in the garage and all around in the basment. I saw one two days later but have not seen a bug since. Bottles are also a lot bigger than you would expect. I bought 4 not knowing how far they would go and used just over a half of one bottle. I am very interested to see how long this stuff works.

Date:April 9, 2010
Pros: Reduces Number Of Pests, Large Coverage Area, Portable, Easy To Use, Safe
Cons: Messy Cleanup
My parents used this when I was growing up, It worked then and it still works now. I used it after a trailer park down the road from me was forclosed on , and all the trailers went empty.
The roaches found their way to my home. I put this down for two weeks, NO MORE Roaches.
I even told my daughter to use it.(she has two small children)This was perfect to get right behind the Frig., Washer, Dryer, and Dishwasher.
No mess for her children or animals to get into.

BORIC ACID WORKS!!!!

Date:April 1, 2010
Pros: Easy To Use, Portable, Reduces Number Of Pests, Safe, Large Coverage Area
I USED EVERYTHING TO TRY TO GET RID ANTS THAT INVADED MY HOME FOR TWO MONTHS THIS WINTER. I READ ABOUT BORIC ACID ON THE INTERNET AND GAVE IT A TRY. WOW!!!! I MIXED IT WITH SUGAR AND WATER AND LAID SOME DOWN BEHIND THE FRIDGE, IN THE CORNERS OF THE HOUSE AND THE BACK OF MY COUNTERS. IN FOUR DAYS THE ANTS WERE GONE!!! LITTLE BIT MESSY, BUT WELL WORTH THE CLEAN UP. VERY CHEAP AND SAFE.

best price found on internet!

Date:March 28, 2010
Pros: Best price forr this size, Portable, Reduces Number Of Pests, Easy To Use, Large Coverage Area, Safe
Cons: Messy Cleanup
I use the product because I became infested with all kids of critters (bugs) when a new neighbor moved into the unit next to me (we live in a row of townhouses) I have tried EVERYTHING from home depot to CVS and nothing kept the critters away or killed them, as soon as I spread this Boric Acid along the base boards of my house inside and outside, I have not seen any critters, it works wonders! I checked online and prices were unbelievable except Walgreen's , I found and large bottle for the same price and small bottle goes for any where else! THANK YOU Walgreen's!

Easy peasy lemon squeezy

Date:January 27, 2010
Pros: Easy To Use, Reduces Number Of Pests
I found a simple formula online that makes it easy to lay out the "boric bombs":
2 teaspoons boric acid powder
2 teaspoons sugar
Mix it in a disposable cup with a disposable spoon in an open area, away from your plates, sink, etc. Fill the cup 2/3 with water and dissolve the solution. Toss in around 8 cotton balls to soak it up.
Cut up some cardboard the size of a postcard (thicker than the magazine subscription inserts) and use it as a disposable "plate" to hold 2 cotton balls in area where the pests are. You should be able to make 4 "traps" with this formula.
The sugar will attract the pests.. In about 2 hours, you should see them coming out of their hiding places. Don't get worried - it doesn't kill them right away. Go watch a movie or go to work. In 5-6 hours, they will start to slow down, as their insides are dried up from ingesting the poison! Left overnight, you can toss the cardboard with no staining (assuming the cardboard was thick enough).
The only thing left to clean up are the crusty carcasses...

Dusty, Messy and Useless

Date:December 28, 2009
Cons: Messy Cleanup, Ineffective, Difficult To Use
Yea, so I just bought this stuff after reading all the good reviews. First of all, there's no spout so you literally have to pour this powdery stuff all over the floor and "spread" it around into cracks and crevices, leaving the rest of your floor dusty looking. It's almost impossible not to get this stuff on your hands, clothes or any other unintended places. It's a powder so that stuff goes airborne and directly into your nose. My advice, get the more expensive yet cleaner "gel" version of this. It's so much easier to apply as opposed to spreading powder all over the place! Other than that, call an exterminator becuase bait traps stopped working for me.

Safe

Pros: Reduces Number Of Pests, Portable, Easy To Use, Safe, Large Coverage Area
Boric Acid works great for killing roaches, ants, and other insects. Among other things, it is used to lubricate Carrom boards to decrease friction and increase speed of play.
Boric acid is less toxic than table salt. The Thirteenth Edition of the Merck Index indicates that the LD50 of boric acid is 5.14 g/kg for oral dosages given to rats. The LD50 of sodium chloride is reported to be 3.75 g/kg in rats according to the Merck Index. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Boric_acid

Buy This Product...

Pros: Reduces Number Of Pests, Large Coverage Area, Safe, Easy To Use, Portable
This is the best and least expensive long-term residual insecticide one can buy. Use it properly and the structure will be virtually pest free. Read up on its use and follow the directions. It works great.

It works, relatively non-toxic.

Date:June 15, 2007
Pros: Easy To Use, Reduces Number Of Pests, Portable, Safe, Large Coverage Area
Boric acid is one of those little-advertised amazing chemicals. Pharmaceutical-quality boric acid can be used, when diluted according to directions, as an excellent eye-disinfectant. Also useful for treating swimmer's ear (otitis externa). This version is intended only as an insecticide, so I would not use it for medical purposes, being unsure of its purity. However, as insecticides go, it is relatively safe for people. We have used it to clear out roaches and insects whenever we move into a new apartment or house. We have used it this way with no problems since the early 1980's.
