I don't trust the readings

Date:March 12, 2014
Pros: Easy To Use
Cons: display resets, cuff started leaking
Got this monitor because my doctor wanted me to get an Automatic BP monitor and it was recommended in Consumer Reports. Readings vary widely and always seem higher than what is read at my doctors office, or when I give blood at the Red Cross. Also the Irregular Heartbeat indicator comes on quite a bit, I think caused by the way I'm breathing during readings. I've had tests done that never showed I have an IHB. Another problem is that the display will go blank occasionally, even when using the power supply instead of batteries, so that the Time and Date have to be re-entered. Finally, the large cuff started leaking, so I had to switch to the small cuff, which is a little small for me. I am presently looking for a new monitor.

Wierd monitor

Date:October 28, 2013
BP monitor cuff is hard to position on arm and machine goes into error code. It takes 3 or 4 tries to get BP. Fustration raises BP 20 points.

A total waste of my money. Way too much frustration to get a reading.

inaccurate

Date:January 18, 2013
So i have borderline high blood pressure (133/90) and was told to get a cuff and begin measuring my BP. I started becoming very concerned because the reading started at around that level (139/90) but within a week were 150/100. I went back into see my doctor and the numbers were 130/90

I bought one of these and it seemed to work fine at first. Now, when I try to use it the unit pumps to about 165 and stops for a few seconds, then it pumps to over 200 and readings are wild.

Yikes! I just bought this unit. I wonder if you take your monitor with you to the doctor and make sure you are using it correctly. A LOT of specific information about how to use position the cuff, position of your body. Arm height in relation to your heart. It says to wait an hour after caffeine, alcohol or food intake too. I'll try to remember to come back and write a review after I've had it a while. So far, I love it.
